30 PADUMĀWATI. [60 CANTO IV. THE MĀNASARÕDAKA LAKE. 60. One day, on the full moon festival, Padmāvati went to bathe in the Mānasarõda ka lake. She called all her fellows, and, like a garden went they all.2 Some were campakas, and some companions were Indian jasmines, others sweet fragrant screw-pines, or citrons, or honey-plants.7 Some were sweet basils, or red rose-apples, and others posieslo of smiling abelias. Il Some were sweet maulasiris,12 glorious with blossom. Others were the Spanish 18 or the Indian jasmines 14 dog-roses. 16 Some were oleasters, 16 and some were safflowers. 7 Others were weeping-nyctanthes 18 flowers, and others rose-chesnuts. 19 Some were kājā-roses, 2n marigolds 21 and the Arabian jas- mine. 22 Others were kadambas, 23 and sweet honey-plants.25 They all went along with the Aganosma,26 and the lotuses and the water- lilies26 bloomed.
