प्रस्तुत हप-विधान पवन खींचता है। सागर स्वप्न यह समुद्र के किनारे सूर्यास्त का वर्णन है जिसका विषय यह है। समुद्र की खारी हवा काटती सी है। डूबते सूर्य की किरने ऊँची उठी तरंग की श्वेत फेनिल चोटी पर पड़कर पीली मधुमक्खियों के फैले हुए झुड सी लगती हैं। वह ऊपर उठी लहर देव-मंदिर के मंडप सी जान पड़ती है जिसके भीतर पाठ होता है, बड़े बड़े घंटे बजते हैं, गेरू से पुते दरवाजे होते हैं, नगाड़े बजते हैं, बड़ी तोंदवाले मोटे निठल्ले पुजारी बैठे रहते हैं। वा समुद्र के जल को वैसे ही खींचती जान पड़ती है जैसे मछुवा जाल खींचता हो। सूर्यास्त हो जाता है। धुंधलापन, फिर अंधकार हो जाता है। लोग सोते हैं। has flagged: seperated from alliterative association it becomes the definite image (Sea and the centre around which the poem is to be built up. But once it has appeared there is little more to be said ; the poem trails off, closing with the large S echo of the last line. The hyphen before this S detaches it from 'dream'.
