966 रस-मीमांसा contain not only emotions but sentiments, e. g. pride, vanity, avarice, love of riches, sensuality or love sensual pieasures. "These relatively permanent dispositions are what we designate our sentiments"Angell. Abstract and concrete, e. g. love of truth, science, art and love or reverence for parents-Ibid. FEELING AND AFFECTION The agreeable-clisagreeable clement or phase of our states of consciousness is affection. The total complex state in which it occurs, including sensory and ideational elements, feeling. Wundt and Royce add excitement and calm. Unnecesary, for they are characteristics which apply to the general activity of consciousness.
