20 परमार्थसोपान - टिप्पणी [ Part I Ch. II कुदळ. कुदारी Pick-axe. cf. ममी = मर्म को जानने वाला । भावसहित = श्रद्धा से | चिन्तामणि मोह दरिद्र - m in Hindi; मणि / = मोहरूप दरिद्र । ef. लोभ रूप घात and अविद्यारूप तम. Note :- - Another word should have been used instead of दरिद्र ( ethical ) to compare with बात and तम ( physical ). बुझावा = बुझाता है । बुझाना - To extinguish. ( Very; peculiarly बुझाना is also the causal form of वृझना, meaning to make understand ). Note :- शलभ समुदाय not killed as with the lamp of Knowledge, but defeated and dispelled by the jewel of devotion. हित = मित्र । सुयतन = सुयत्न | Note :- - The two passages, the previous one on ज्ञानदीप and the present one on भक्तिमणि are both of them continued metaphors. The first is from animal husbandry and the second is from mining. The साङ्गरूपक implied in the above passage may be brought out as follows:- वेद and पुराण - पर्वत ; रामकथा - आकर ; सुजन - मर्मी : ज्ञान and वैराग्य - Eyes : सुमति - कुदारी - pick-axe, भाव - खोजने की क्रिया ; भक्ति - परम प्रकाशरूप चिन्तामार्ण ( दिया घृत वाती की अनावश्यकता); अविद्या - तम; काम, क्रोध, लोभ, मोह, दुःख, दारिद्र्य - शलभ ; सुखप्राप्ति - The end.
