"Altogether 761 separate works or books, appear to be noticed in the four annual Reports The numeration, however, is not quite clearly stated The number of separate "Notices" is certainly smaller Moreover, the search has produced a considerable number of manuscripts which have not been "noticed" at all, as being "of no historical or literary value." "The search has already produced some very valuable results, both from the literary and antiquarian point of view. Some great literary finds have been already mentioned Manuscripts of Tulsi Das's Ramayan and Chand's Prithviraj Rasau. To these may be added two old and important manuscripts of the Padmavati by Malik Mohammad (c 1540 AD) and of the Satsai by Bihari Lal Chaube (c 1650 AD), dated respectively 1690 and 1718 AD

“The oldest manuscripts brought to light by the search is a manuscript of the Prithviraj Rasau (NO 68 of 1900) which is dated in 1590 AD It appears to be the only manuscript of the 16th century as yet discovered by the search The next oldest is dated in 1604 AD, and is a manuscript of Tulsi Das's Ramayan (No 22 of 1900) There
